Claim NowAt Prestons Dental, we’re big on providing gentle, preventative care to little ones. From their first visit to ongoing check-ups, we focus on education and building positive experiences that set them up for a lifetime of healthy habits. Families love our kind and reassuring approach, and most little ones leave with a smile (and a small reward for being brave). Here’s how we support growing smiles:
These routine appointments help us monitor your child’s development, clean their teeth, and catch any concerns before they become problems.
We apply a thin coating to the grooves of your child’s back teeth to protect against decay and make brushing more effective.
This strengthens your child’s enamel and helps prevent cavities while they’re still learning to brush properly.
We work with both parents and children to develop healthy brushing and flossing habits at home, along with guidance on diet and preventative care.
We can assess potential restrictions that may impact feeding, speech, and oral development, and advise on whether further treatment is needed.
Identifying issues like crowding, bite problems, or thumb-sucking habits early allows us to plan for any future treatment and guide growth in the right direction.

Our team has a genuine interest in early childhood dental development and takes an active approach to supporting growing smiles. We understand that children’s oral health goes beyond clean teeth: in fact, it’s closely connected to their overall wellbeing.
At Prestons Dental, we assess early orthodontic concerns, monitor airway development, and look for signs of issues like mouth breathing, tongue and lip ties, or improper swallowing. By identifying these factors early, we can help support proper growth, function, and comfort for your child.
Above all, we’re focused on helping children feel relaxed and confident when visiting the dentist. With a calm environment, friendly staff, and a kind, reassuring approach, we aim to create positive dental experiences that build trust for life.

We believe every child deserves access to quality dental care, which is why we’re proud to be a CDBS dentist. If your child is aged 0–17 and meets the eligibility requirements under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, they may be entitled to up to $1,132 in covered dental treatments over two calendar years. This can cover check-ups, cleans, X-rays, fissure sealants, fillings, and more. If you’re unsure whether your child is eligible, feel free to contact us.
We’re happy to help you check and make the process as simple as possible.

It’s recommended that children see a dentist by their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth appearing. Early visits help build familiarity and allow us to monitor their oral development from the beginning.
First visits are all about helping your child feel comfortable. We’ll gently check their teeth, gums, and bite, and chat with you about brushing, diet, and habits like thumb-sucking or dummies.
That’s totally normal, especially at the beginning. Our team is experienced in working with nervous little ones: we use a calm, encouraging approach and never rush. Sometimes it takes a few visits to build confidence, and that’s okay.
Yes, we’re a CDBS dentist and accept eligible patients under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which provides up to $1,052 in basic dental services over two calendar years for children aged 0–17.
